Ekonom ranking

Škoda Auto ranked second in the Ekonom sustainability ranking in the ESG strategy category.

Sustainability is one of the main priorities of the company’s Next Level Škoda Strategy, which defines a total of nine key areas and priorities for the development of the Company until 2030 in three parts: Brand and Market, Technology and Quality, and People and Company.
Definition of specific goals for 2025–2030

Decarbonization

Škoda Auto’s goal is to reduce the DCI of its products by at least 40% to a value of 24.7 t CO₂e by 2030 compared to 2018 (41.2 t CO₂e).

Circular Economy

Škoda Auto’s goal is to increase the Share of Recycled Plastics in new models from 2025 up to 40 kg net weight material.

Preserving Local Ecosystems

Škoda Auto’s goal is to reduce the UEP indicator by 52.5% by 2025, compared to 2010.

People and communities

Škoda Auto’s goal is to achieve an above-average score (≥120%) in the Activity Success Index of selected projects by 2030.

Diversity (women in management)

Škoda Auto’s goal is to achieve a diversity of 25% by 2030.

Integrity and Compliance

Škoda Auto’s goal is to achieve a GCC score in the range of 6.5 – 6.7 by 2030.

Risk Management

By 2030, Škoda Auto’s goal is to achieve a ratio between reported and actually occurring risks of min. 90%.

Sustainable Business Relations

By 2030, Škoda Auto aims to achieve a 90% turnover share compared to the total turnover of the last 12 months with suppliers with the highest sustainability rating (A-rating).

Corporate Governance of Sustainability

The Company put in place a model of governance, with defined roles and responsibilities to ensure the effective and consistent governance of sustainability.

The governance model includes an External Sustainability Council, formed in 2021. The Council consists of independent external sustainability experts with international experience in business, environment, transformation, strategy and communication.
The External Sustainability Council
In 2024, the External Sustainability Council met once in person with the Company’s Board of Management. This meeting was followed by a number of individual meetings on selected topics or a visit of the Vrchlabí region by members of the External Sustainability Council. The meeting in 2024 discussed topics such as the circular economy, biodiversity, communication and developments in the global environment, macroeconomic indicators and risks impacting the Company.

The Taxonomy Regulation and related delegated acts are a key tool of the European Green Deal, allowing for the classification of sustainable production and financial flows.
EU Taxonomy at Škoda Auto 2024
This motivates and accelerates the transition to climate neutrality by 2050. All economic activities of Škoda Auto have been assessed for their compliance with sustainability criteria in accordance with Article 8 of the Taxonomy Regulation for the purpose of informing stakeholders and making decisions for the Company.
